Spring Lake: Unlocked Maserati, Porsche stolen with keys in ignition

The following is a release from the Spring Lake Police Department:

On Saturday morning, October 7, 2017 the Spring Lake Police Department received two reports of motor vehicles that were stolen sometime in the early morning hours.

A 2016 Porsche Panamera and a 2015 Maserati were stolen from two separate residences. In both cases, the vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside of them.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind all our residents and visitors not to leave valuables of any kind in your cars, and to lock your cars, even when they are parked in your driveway.

Keep the doors and windows to your homes locked as well. While we live in a relatively safe community, criminals come to the area looking to take advantage of that.

Leaving your keys in your car, or leaving the doors to your home unlocked, makes it easy for them to commit their crimes.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Spring Lake Police Department at 732-449-1234 if you see or hear anything suspicious. We are here for your safety, and the security of your homes and property.
