Seaside Park: Firefighters rescue dog that fell into frozen Barnegat Bay

News

Firefighters rescued a dog that had fallen into the frozen Barnegat Bay this afternoon in Seaside Park.

The dog jumped out of a car window after seeing ducks, a bystander said.

At that point, the Golden Retriever ran onto the bay, which was undergoing a thaw today after it was partially frozen since last weekend.

Firefighters and police responded to the scene, and the dog was quickly rescued.

There were no injuries.

On Monday, emergency officials warned to stay off the Barnegat Bay.
